Chelsea have struggled against lesser teams at Stamford Bridge this season, with the Blues losing against West Ham, Bournemouth and recently Southampton.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has favoured Cesar Azpilicueta and Emerson as Chelsea’s fullbacks this season but according to Zach Lowy, they are responsible for Chelsea’s inability to break down teams that sit deep due to their poor crossing abilities.

He wrote: “For matches like this, when the opposition packs the middle and vacates space on the wings, Chelsea really need Reece James & Marcos Alonso instead of Azpilicueta & Emerson.

“Azpilicueta getting so much time and space on the right yet failing to find the target with his crosses.”

You are right Mr lampard coz these two guys cessar and Emerson don’t cross the balls to the danger zones of the goal area otherwise they afford to play negative instead of penetrative passes. I think they need to improve on that
