Chelsea’s defence has been poor this season, and the Blues always look suspect while defending set-pieces.

Aston Villa boss Dean Smith has hailed his star man Jack Grealish heading to this Wednesday’s game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Smith has also asked for referee protection for Grealish and also revealed how he can use fouls that the 24-year-old draws to get goals for his team.

Smith said: “If you watch the last few games he has played for us, you can see he has been at a very high level. Teams will try to stop that.

“If they foul him further up the pitch then we’ve got great set-piece routines, and great set-piece takers. It gives us more of a chance to go and get a goal.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea legend John Terry will make a return to the Bridge with Dean Smith, and Frank Lampard is expecting an emotional return for the former Chelsea skipper.

Lampard said: “So I think it’s more about John and probably the reception he will quite rightly get from the Chelsea fans. He was the most decorated captain, greatest captain, won everything, feels the club – everybody knows that.

“The fans will certainly show their appreciation and I’m sure it will be pretty emotional for John. He deserves that moment and I will certainly be pleased to see his face back at the Bridge.”
