Chelsea’s most likely chance of signing a striker this January transfer window might be a move for AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek.

According to reports, Chelsea have been offered the chance to sign the AC Milan ace this January, with the Italian side keen to cash in on the 24-year-old.

Piatek has lost his place this season at AC Milan since the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but the Milan club weren’t keen on a loan which Chelsea were offering.

However, Bleacher Report’s Dean Jones has now claimed that AC Milan are open to a loan deal.

He wrote in a tweet: “Milan becoming much more accommodating over terms of a Piatek deal. Even on loan. Someone – Spurs, Chelsea, United – could get themselves an absolute player here.”

However, Chelsea must now act fast as Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham are also eyeing a move for the 24-year-old striker following the injury to Harry Kane.

Piatek impressed at Genoa last season, scoring 13 goals in the Italian top-flight before his move to Milan last January. He found the net a further nine times in 18 appearances for the Rossoneri to finish the campaign, totalling his goals to 22, which was very impressive.

However, this season has seen his form drop a bit as he has only managed four goals in 18 Serie A appearances.

With the Edinson Cavani deal looking far from Chelsea’s hands, this might just be the club’s best chance to get a striker, and Piatek is worth the gamble for a loan deal and option to buy if he impresses.
