A number of Chelsea loan army had returned to the club this January transfer window and also headed out on loan to another club, and Chelsea youngster Ethan Ampadu is set to return to Stamford Bridge and head to another club on loan to continue his development.
The 19-year-old has only played 5 games across all competitions for Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, and reports now claim that Chelsea are keen to terminate his loan deal.
Karadeniz Gazetesi, a Trabzon-based news outlet in Turkey has claimed that Trabzonspor has emerged as potential suitors for the Blues youngster.
Former Chelsea coach Eddie Newton recently left Frank Lampard’s backroom staff to join Trabzonspor as assistant manager, and the club also has two former Chelsea stars John Mikel Obi and Daniel Sturridge.
Ampadu had revealed before now that he hopes to impress Lampard with stand-out displays while on loan at RB Leipzig. But unfortunately, it didn’t go well for him in Germany.
Ampadu said: “I want to show I don’t have to go on another loan, go back to Chelsea and hopefully play more minutes there. That’s the aim. It’s what I want to do.
“At the moment, I have to train well, improve and get in the team and hopefully that will come for me for the next few years.”
