Chelsea and Arsenal played a thrilling 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night, and the Blues fans will see this game more as two points dropped.
The game started on a good note for Chelsea as David Luiz was sent off in the first-half for a desperate foul on Tammy Abraham in the penalty box, with Jorginho scoring the resulting penalty kick.
Gabriel Martinelli then scored the equaliser for Arsenal shortly after the hour mark. After much pressure from Chelsea, Cesar Azpilicueta scored a late goal in the 84th minute to put Chelsea in front. Arsenal rallied round despite being a man down, with Hector Bellerin scoring the second for Arsenal just three minutes afterwards.
Chelsea had 19 shots compared to Arsenal’s 2, and the Gunners set an unwanted record that showed how vulnerable Chelsea can be.
The record books have shown that only four times since 2006, across Europe’s top five leagues, has a team scored with their only two shots of a game. That’s four of about 26,500 matches.
