Tammy Abraham got injured late in the 2-2 draw against Arsenal and needed help to leave the stadium as he couldn’t walk properly after hurting his ankle.
The Telegraph now claim that Chelsea may ask Tammy Abraham to play through the pain barrier against Leicester City on Saturday if the Blues are unable to sign a new striker before the close of the transfer window.
Abraham has been the main man for Frank Lampard and the Blues boss doesn’t seem to trust Michy Batshuayi or even Olivier Giroud, and the report claims that the 22-year-old might be the one to start yet again against the Foxes.
Meanwhile, Batshuayi scored Chelsea’s opener in the 2-1 win over Hull City, and Lampard was pleased with his performance in that game.
Lampard said: “He gets his goal. I am pleased as a goal scorer and a striker, he wants to score goals and it helps his confidence. I am pleased.
“I have said all season that we can’t just rely on Tammy. Tammy has been scoring regularly. He has given us a lot. Of course, we want Michy firing and scoring goals like he did today and when he trains he needs to stay at that level because today we needed him.”
