Brighton defender Ben White is reportedly being monitored by Chelsea as the Blues seek to strengthen their defence.

Sky Sports claim that Chelsea are monitoring Brighton’s centre-back Ben White, but Seagulls’ manager Graham Potter has admitted that it’s too early for his young defender to leave.

“There are all sorts of talk as we know, but the reality is he’s our player and has a future here,” the 44-year-old said, as quoted by the Mirror. “He’s on loan now at Leeds and having a positive experience, and we’re delighted with that.

“But we’re looking forward to having him back at the right time and we’ll go from there. He’s our player, he’s contracted with us.”

Ben White has impressed at Leeds United this season in the Championship, featuring in 25 Sky Bet Championship games and 2 in the Carabao Cup. Ben is credited for playing a pivotal role in helping Marcelo Bielsa’s team climb to the top of the Championship table with 52 points from 26 games.
