Chelsea have definitely missed the impact of club legend Didier Drogba. Besides the goals that were scored by the Ivorian, one thing Drogba usually did for Chelsea was to use his body as an advantage against teams.

Many ex Premier League defenders have named Drogba as one of the toughest defenders they came across due to the physical side of his game.

Diego Costa was another striker who Chelsea fans saw bully defenders in the Premier League, but the Spain international didn’t last long at the club after falling out with former boss Antonio Conte.

Chelsea youngster Tammy Abraham is now taking the rein of being a physical striker and using his body with his towering frame as an advantage.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has hailed Abraham’s display against Burnley even though he was up against very physical defenders in Ben Mee and James Tarkowski, and Lampard believes that the young forward will continue to progress.

“Tammy gave as good as he got and I think it’s important for him to do that,” said Lampard of his centre-forward’s dominant display in the 3-0 win against Burnley.

“When you have his frame, 6ft 3in, he has to use his body and I think he has done to great effect this year and he’ll get better at that. It’s important to hold firm and at least make it very difficult for them. He did that in this game and I’m really pleased.”
