According to Sky Italia, Chelsea and Italian giants Inter Milan are close to agreeing Olivier Giroud’s transfer.
The Italian media outlet claims there’s less than £1m (€1.17m) between Chelsea’s request and Inter’s offer. The Blues have asked for £4.3m plus £850,000 (€5m + €1m), while Inter have offered £3.4m plus £850,000 (€4m + €1m).
Inter Milan representatives held talks with Giroud’s agent last week and the Frenchman has already agreed a two and a half year deal.
Both clubs reportedly intend to close the deal as soon as possible.
Giroud wasn’t part of the matchday squad for the 3-0 victory over Burnley on Saturday. He has not featured for Frank Lampard’s side since the end of November, with Tammy Abraham the preferred choice.
