The January transfer window remains the hardest to do business as transfer fees are usually outrageous and clubs aren’t keen on selling midway through the window.
While Chelsea are in need of new signings to strengthen the squad, the Blues haven’t reached a deal yet for any of its rumoured targets, much to the frustration of some Chelsea fans.
Some Blues fans are keen to see a new player head to the club this window, but Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has maintained that the club won’t be pushed into the market and will only make the right signings.
However, Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck who spoke ahead of the Lampard in his press conference on Friday afternoon had revealed that he knows the Chelsea signings but won’t reveal it.
“Who are we signing? I do know, but I won’t be telling,” the chairman said, as per Goal’s Nizaar Kinsella.
However, Lampard claimed that the Blues chairman was only joking.
He said: “Thanks, Bruce, you have made this tough now.
“That was a joke,” the manager claimed later. “There is nothing imminent. There aren’t people waiting in the wings that I or you don’t know about. There’s no news on that front. I won’t talk about any individuals. I won’t be embarrassed that I am being dishonest with a signing in soon.”
