Chelsea have confirmed the departure of Tariq Lamptey from the club as the 19-year-old has left the club to join Brighton permanently.

Chelsea confirmed in a statement on the club’s official website thus: “Tariq Lamptey has today completed a permanent transfer to Brighton and Hove Albion.”

Lamptey has been at the club since age 8 and made his debut in our 2-1 win over Arsenal back in December. The 19-year-old has made three appearances for the Blues this term.

Lamptey was in the final year of his contract and was offered a new deal, but to Chelsea’s surprise he declined signing with the club.

Chelsea have now thanked Tariq for his service and wished him well in his future career.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.

Where are zaha and others?Lampard should be serious or leave Chelsea alone.

  2. Disapointed in not bringing any new faces in. I love Tammy but the lad cannot be expected to play every game between now and end of season…. too much for his first year in the top flight… Giroud and Bats are not good enough. For those at West Ham game Giroud looked disinterested and lacked in every department ..

We are blessed everywhere else except left back… Alonso can be got at and Emerson gives space away ….

Failure to address these areas leaves me concerned at our top four chances..

Frank has come out and wanted players in… Why have we not done so …. ??

Is the lack of backing something to be concerned about or are we going to see Sancho, Chilwell and Mpabbe at the Bridge next season …

Cmon Chels ….. back Frank and Jody everything else is in place… 3 marquee signings to take us back to the top …

I’m glad we didn’t waste money on panic buying, which is something we tend to do every year. But the critics are out and unless the powers that be in Chelsea hierarchy start proving that they are capable of bringing in players that will improve the team at the end of this season, there will be serious questions asked by fans.

  4. But what’s the next plan. We are still FA cup, ECL, and EP league. Why not add more strength. I suggest he go back using Pedro, giroud and Berkeley effectively.
