Despite Frank Lampard’s desire to sign a striker in the January transfer window, the Blues have rejected the chance to sign CSKA Moscow striker Fyodor Chalov.

Chalov was expected to leave Russia for the Premier League this month but that has now collapsed after Chelsea refused to match his £25m asking price.

21 year old Chalov is a full Russia international who has spent the whole of his senior career at CSKA.

The Blues are instead pushing to sign PSG striker Edinson Cavani or Lyon striker Moussa Dembele.

With just a few days left to the end of the January transfer window, the Blues will have to move quickly or risk losing out on any signing.
