Chelsea had reportedly pushed the signing of RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner to the summer but it seems the Blues are now keen on signing the German international this January after the Newcastle United loss.

According to The Sun, Chelsea have begun talks over the signing of Werner this January but Chelsea’s efforts to sign the German has attracted some unwelcomed competition.

The Blues reportedly hope to tie up the signing of the German international, despite Tammy Abraham’s stunning season so far but now face competition from Premier League leaders Liverpool.

Daily Star claim Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is keen on adding the striker to the squad this January to boost the club’s attacking options.

Werner has scored 20 goals in just 18 league games this season and has provided 6 assists for his teammates.

Lampard should stop his stupid sentiments. Mason mount is not a better player compared to Christian pulisic and Kovacic. The likes of Mount, Hudson Odoi should be playing from bench at least 20 minutes each. Lampard is the one killing our dear club CHELSEA and he’s going to be fired for it if care is not taking. You guys should talk some sense into him.
