According to Daily Mail, Chelsea are monitoring Atalanta left-back Robin Gosens with scouts from the club watching him in action in a 5-0 win over Parma in Serie A on Monday.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is keen on signing a left-back this January as he hasn’t been impressed with his options at left-back this season.

Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri are Chelsea’s current options at left-back but none of them have impressed the Chelsea boss.

According to Daily Mail, Chelsea scouts were impressed with Gosens, who was born in Germany to a Dutch father and is eligible to represent both countries.

“The 25-year-old impressed as he scored one and provided the assist for another in Atalanta’s comfortable victory,” states the report.

“Gosens has starred in Atalanta’s strong season so far in which they have reached the last 16 of the Champions League.

“He has netted six goals and supplied four assists in 20 appearances for the Serie A side this campaign.”
