Chelsea have been linked with Roma midfielder Amadou Diawara and reports claim that the Blues have ‘sent scouts to watch Amadou Diawara’ in action during Roma’s 2-1 loss to Juventus.
According to Tuttomercato, it wasn’t just Chelsea scouts who were present to watch Diawara but there were scouts from Spurs as well at the Stadio Olimpico and Tottenham have been keeping tabs on the 22-year-old for months.
However, it seems Spurs boss Jose Mourinho is very keen on Diawara due to the fitness issues of Moussa Sissoko and Tanguy Ndombele.
Unfortunately, Diawara didn’t have a good game and completed one successful challenge having attempted four during the game, and he was dribbled past on three occasions.
However, according to stats by whoscored.com, he was tidy in possession, successfully completing 59 of the 62 passes he attempted.
Meanwhile, Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko on loan to Monaco has revealed that he had really wanted to play for Chelsea.
“I didn’t immediately think it (Monaco) was the best option because I really wanted to play with Chelsea,” Tiemoue Bakayoko told L’Equipe.
“But I felt that it would not go as I wanted [at Chelsea] and Monaco appeared. It became an obvious choice.”
