It’s transfer deadline day, and a lot is expected to happen on this day as teams scrap round to seal deals for their targets before midnight.
While Chelsea are pushing for some new signings, some other clubs are also keen on Chelsea players, and one of such players who have attracted massive interests is Olivier Giroud.
According to reports on transfer deadline day, Lazio director Igli Tare has flown in to London to seal a deal for Giroud.
Inter Milan have long been keen on signing Giroud, but Lazio have entered the deal of late, and reports claim Chelsea have agreed a deal in principle to send Olivier Giroud to Lazio, but it will only go ahead if the Blues are able to bring in Dries Mertens from Napoli.
Mertens’ contract expires at the end of the season and the Blues reportedly believe the Belgian striker can be signed for just £6 million.
Mertens as backup for Abraham will be good if the deal go through
