Chelsea have been linked with a number of targets this January transfer window, as the club’s transfer ban was lifted back in December.
However, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has admitted that the club are only looking to strengthen the attacking area and he admitted that the Blues aren’t close to making any deal happen soon.
Lampard said in his press conference ahead of the Burnley clash: “We’re looking to strengthen in high areas and with goalscorers because it’s where we’ve been found pretty short in home games recently but they’re hard to find and I’ll only want to go that way if we know we’re improving the squad that we have already.
“Nothing is close at the moment, we’re not imminent and there won’t be any big news today or tomorrow.”
Meanwhile, reports by Daily Mail claim that Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has agreed personal terms with Italian club Inter Milan after his agents met with Inter directors in Milan on Thursday.
Despite Giroud agreeing personal terms with Inter Milan, talks are still ongoing between Inter and Chelsea – with no agreement yet in place between the two clubs.
