Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham has been a revelation for the Blues this season, but the 22-year-old striker wasn’t at his best against Brighton away at the Amex Stadium.
Despite Abraham’s brilliant form this season, there have been games where he has been unable to impress, and the 22-year-old was missing against the Seagulls.
The attack has been one area where the Chelsea team needs strengthening and Frank Lampard has admitted that he might make a signing in the January transfer window.
Meanwhile, former Chelsea star Joe Cole has told Lampard not to replace Abraham in the transfer market but rather create an enabling environment to improve.
Asked about whether they need to look for a replacement in January, Cole told BT Sport: “You certainly don’t need to replace him.
“He is a young lad and we’ll all know what he’s about on and off the pitch. What Chelsea and the other top clubs do is look at what’s around.
“I believe he can lead the line for years to come. One of the key things is what his old managers say about him and that is the mindset and his tenacity. When you’ve got those attributes you’re in a good place.”
