Chelsea goalkeeper and world’s most expensive goalkeeper signing Kepa Arrizabalaga has faced the wrath of the media and even Chelsea fans with his shambolic goalkeeping at times this season.
Kepa has been far from his best this term and has shipped in too many goals already. While the Blues defence might be blamed for being too porous, the Spain international hasn’t also helped his cause.
A twitter user has revealed stats documented on every Premier League keepers’ ability to save shots.
Analysis from the stats conclude that West Ham goalkeeper Fabianski was the best in the league at saving shots relative to “expected goals” (i.e. was conceding far fewer goals than the number and quality of the shots he was facing).
Meanwhile, Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga was fourth from bottom, that is, he was conceding more than the average goals you would “expect” from the shots he’s faced.

Meanwhile, Kepa has been improving in recent games and his saves against Brighton ensured Chelsea didn’t lose that game.
