Chelsea right-back Reece James was the standout player at the Bridge as Chelsea defeated Burnley 3-0 to maintain their grip on fourth place.

James stood out with his excellent crosses from the right flank and one eventually found Tammy Abraham who headed in for the second goal of the game.

James’ crosses are his asset and his delivery has even been likened to that of England legend David Beckham.

After his five-star performance against Burnley, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard was particularly full of praise with the delivery of the 19-year-old right-back.

Lampard said: “He has a great delivery of cross and more than that, he is good on the ball and physically he is so good as well and he is so young. This is just the start for him and the way I want us to play, the full-backs are going to be huge for us.

“To get it to where we want it they have to be able to join in and be an attacking threat and he certainly is for us. Reece is a big weapon at the minute which we have to use well because there is a lot of juice on those crosses. We have anticipate them and get across people and make goals like we did with the Tammy one.” Lampard will be keen on tying the youngster’s future at Chelsea, and reports have claimed that the Chelsea academy product is close to signing a new five-year contract with the Blues
