Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has confirmed Chelsea goalkeeper Willy Caballero will start Chelsea’s FA Cup fourth round clash against Hull City on Saturday.
Kepa Arrizabalaga has come under heavy criticism recently and the game against Hull City is the perfect game to rest the Spaniard.
Asked if Caballero will start against Hull City, Lampard said: “Yes, Willy will start tomorrow.
“I am very happy for Willy to be at the club and I have found him as nothing but professional and he is very talented in training day-in day-out and when he gets his opportunity to play, so yes.”
Chelsea are reportedly looking at options to replace Arrizabalaga after his inconsistent performance for the Blues this season but Lampard confirmed the goalkeeper won’t be replaced in January.
Lampard said: “I am not looking at it now.
“I am not affected by criticism from the outside as much. I am aware of it, not affected by it. It is what I want for the team and I think with Kepa he knows, he’ll be honest that there have been some mistakes that have cost us goals. It is the nature of it, so that needs to improve.”
