Chelsea need significant strengthening this January transfer window and also in the summer transfer window.
One area that could boost the team’s success is in the attacking midfield. While Mason Mount is doing a good job there so far, there has been games where he fizzled out and Chelsea would have needed more experience.
Meanwhile, former Liverpool left-back Stephen Warnock has told Chelsea boss Frank Lampard to try and get Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen in January for a small fee or wait until the summer and pay nothing for the experienced midfielder.
The 27-year-old is in the final year of his contract and has disagreed to sign a new contract with Spurs.
“The one that spring to mind, not that Chelsea are going to go for him, is Christian Eriksen,” Warnock said on Sky Sports News.
“Out of contract in the summer and you’re thinking ‘Can we get him at a knockdown price?’.
“Or do you risk going against other clubs in the summer and competing against five or six other clubs?
“They’re the situations that you have to weigh up as a manager.”
Real Madrid and Manchester United have been reportedly linked with the Tottenham star.
