Chelsea boss Frank Lampard will be furious with his side for throwing away two one-goal leads as the Blues could only muster a 2-2 draw against 10-man Arsenal.
Gabriel Martinelli scored from a counter to level the scores in the second-half after Jorginho had put the Blues ahead in the first-half. Hector Bellerin then cancelled a late Cesar Azpilicueta goal in the 87th minute as he easily beat Hector Bellerin and put a shot that could as well have been saved by Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Lampard was then asked about the performance of his goalkeeper, but the Blues boss chose not to criticise the Spaniard.
He said: “I know there’s a focus on him at the minute. That’s top-line football. Yes, with his feet, a couple of times today he took too long and he nearly gave it away. That can sometimes change the momentum of a game and he will know and have to look at, and we will have to look at. Yes, it is normal. Any player in a position, particularly goalkeepers, will be looked at, particularly the mettle you have got.
“But he is not the only one. We are in fourth position which is seen as pretty good. I know and we all know that there should be another 10 points on the board at least on performance. We need to look at those final details.”
