It has so far been a fruitful season for Chelsea youngster Reece James as the 20-year-old is impressing in his first season with the senior team.
James has named two of his Chelsea jerseys as part of his collection that he values. The Carabao Cup third round tie against Grimsby Town where he bagged a goal and two assists, earning the man of the match in his debut and also the comeback draw against Ajax where he scored the final goal of the game.
Asked about the best football shirts he has kept, he told the official Chelsea website: “I’ve got a few shirts from players I played against last season in the Championship, which was my first season in professional football.
“I’ve got my Chelsea debut and the shirt from the Ajax game where I scored. I just keep them at my house and I’ll probably put them up somewhere eventually.”
The 20-year-old has proven himself in the first team when given the opportunity, and the Blues are keen to tie him down with a new deal.
Reece James current deal expires in 2022 as he’s still on the basic wages that he signed as a 17-year-old.
James is seen as a long-term successor for Cesar Azpilicueta, and is set to sign a five-year deal with the club.
