One of Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri might leave the club in January as Chelsea are keen on signing a new left-back in the January transfer window.

Alonso and Emerson have both struggled for form this season which has led the club to seek a new left-back, with Cesar Azpilicueta having to feature in that position at times this season.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Chelsea scouts watched Atalanta left-back Robin Gosens in the 5-0 humiliation of Parma on Monday, and the 25-year-old impressed, scoring a goal and providing an assist.

The left-back has been key for Atalanta since joining the club from Eredivisie side Heracles Almelo on 2 June 2017.

The 25-year-old is the kind of fullback Lampard will be looking for as the defender has made 82 appearances for La Dea, scoring 11 goals and providing 8 assists.

Just this season alone, he has scored 6 goals and 4 assists in 20 games, including 5 in the Champions League.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
