Chelsea have been strongly linked with Lyon striker Moussa Dembele.
According to reports, the Blues have reportedly submitted a bid for the Frenchman but it was rejected by the Ligue 1 club.
Transfer expert Ian McGarry claims that Dembele has already agreed personal terms of his contract with Chelsea but it all depends on whether Lyon will let him leave in the January transfer window.
“My information is that Chelsea have fairly agreed [a] contract, verbally that is, with Dembele and his representatives in terms of the player’s wages, bonuses etc, etc and that it remains for the club to agree the fee, fee structure and/or any add ons etc with Jean Michel-Aulas of Lyon,” McGarry said on the Transfer Window Podcast.
Dembele has scored 13 goals in 18 appearances for Lyon, but Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has warned Chelsea off any deal for his striker this month, claiming the Frenchman wants to stay and win trophies with the club.
“Moussa Dembele will not leave because he wants to stay to win something with Lyon,” Aulas said, according to Standard Sport.
“There have been offers for him and for other players but none of those that we want to keep will leave in January.”
