Chelsea have been surprisingly linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani.
The 33-year-old could be seen as a short-term replacement for Olivier Giroud who could leave the club in January.
Meanwhile, France boss Didier Deschamps has urged Giroud to leave the club for where he can get regular time.
“I spoke with Olivier during the last international camp [in November],” Deschamps told French TV channel TF1’s Telefoot show.
“Even during the one before, he already knew what is best for him.
“It is up to him to decide in order to have the best sporting conditions on a daily basis at club level.”
Giroud and Cavani are around the same age, but Giroud is already set to leave.
