Ahead of today’s Premier League game against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso has warned the Blues to be ready to stop Bournemouth’s counterattacks if we want to beat the Cherries.

The Blues have had quite a poor record against Eddie Howe side in the last few meetings, losing three of our last four meetings in the Premier League.

“We know the kind of team they are, they like to counter-attack so we need to be ready for that,” Alonso said.

“We didn’t have much time [to prepare for this game] but we know from the last few seasons we played against them that they can be a dangerous team against us, and we need to be ready for that and to have learned the lesson from previous years.

“We did well with that win against Tottenham and it was very important for the Premier League, but now we need to make that win even better with another one.

“That is what we have to aim for and we do everything to get the three points again.”
