After impressing during pre-season ahead of the 2017/18 season, many Blues fans expected youngster Jeremie Boga to go on and perform for the club. But it never did work out for him at Chelsea, and after a loan move away from Stamford Bridge, he was eventually sold off to Sassuolo.
Boga has been a spark in the Sassuolo team and impressed yet again during the weekend as he won a penalty and also scored a 90 minute goal to help his side beat SPAL 2-1 over the weekend.
“It was another great performance from the start and I think we deserved this result for the way we played over the full 90 minutes,” Boga told DAZN.
“It’s true that teams on our level tend to be more defensive and sit deep, so it’s tougher for us to break them down than when we are up against bigger clubs.”
Chelsea inserted a buy-back clause in Boga’s deal, and the young winger has credited coach Roberto De Zerbi for his current form.
He said: “Coach De Zerbi is helping me a great deal, I have improved so much tactically, both defending and how to attack the space, scoring goals. I am very happy.
“I want to go as far as possible. I enjoy every game and will try to win all the time, scoring goals and providing assists.”
