Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has bemoaned the lack of quality he has in the attacking area as his forward players have struggled to come up with the goals so far this season.
Tammy Abraham has scored 15 goals in all competitions this season, but he has struggled of late and suffered a knock in the 2-2 draw against Arsenal.
In his stead, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard started Michy Batshuayi with Olivier Giroud on the bench. Michy had a bad game, but Giroud came on and did brilliantly and managed to score a goal which was marginally ruled out by VAR for offside.
Chelsea fans have now told Lampard to start Giroud against Tottenham this weekend and has hailed the World Cup winner for his professionalism.
One Chelsea fan wrote: “Great professional, give him more games. Start him against Spurs.”
Another fan tweeted: “Giroud has been treated very poorly by the club yet he still has this attitude? Top professional who deserves better.”
A Blues fan added: “Giroud has been so professional with his behaviour. Its impressive. So many players can learn from him.”
Another supporter wrote: “Giroud has been mad professional and that’s got to be said. Big respect to the OG.”
