Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger had double reasons to rejoice on Saturday – Chelsea’s 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur and the arrival of his baby Djamal Sahr Rudiger.
The German defender took to Twitter to announce the good news just hours after the victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
Rudiger tweeted: “That feeling of being a father for the first time is just incredible ❤️ Welcome to the world, Djamal Sahr Rüdiger.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta has admitted he was surprised Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso escaped a red card during the victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
“Honestly you know I’m not a player that likes to be on the floor because I’m a defender I’m tough and I make fouls,” Azpilicueta told BT Sport after the game.
“It was a clear stamp on my shin and I felt it straight away and I was surprised it was not a red card and not even a yellow card.
“Obviously everybody can make mistakes but when you have a lot of replays it could make it easier.”
