Since signing Mateo Kovacic from Real Madrid, Chelsea have completed a first deal under new boss Frank Lampard, as the Blues have signed Hakim Ziyech from Ajax for £38m.

Ziyech has been a sensational player for Ajax over the past two seasons, and former Chelsea right-back Glen Johnson has hailed the club for signing up the Ajax star for a considerable cheap amount in today’s transfer value.

Glen Johnson told talkSPORT: “I think he’ll be a great signing and from the prices that are knocking around these days that could turn out to be cheap.”

He added: “We all know how many goals he’s been involved in over the last few years which is super impressive so if he can bring that form to the Premier League I think he’ll be a great signing.”

Ziyech has scored 6 goals and provided 12 assists in 18 league matches for Ajax this season. He has 8 goals and 21 assists in 29 matches across all competitions for Ajax this season.

Ziyech has averaged just over an assist every other game, registering 82 from 159 appearances overall for Ajax. He currently leads the Eredivisie in key passes and crosses per 90 minutes and has done so for the last two seasons.
