Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma thought he had equalised for the Blues from a cornerkick but VAR cancelled the goal, citing a Cesar Azpilicueta push on Manchester United defender Brandon Williams.

According to former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton, the officials were wrong to cancel Zouma’s goal because Fred pushed Azpilicueta into Williams.

“That’s a big call,” Sutton said, as quoted by BBC.

“Fred shoves Azpilicueta into Williams – the goal should stand. That’s ridiculous! Wow.

“You have to question what Stockley Park are seeing there? That’s absurd, that’s crazy stuff. They want their heads banging together. I’m bamboozled by that decision. Fred was the instigator in all this.”

It’s really sad that VAR is ruining the game instead of helping the game improve.
