Willy Caballero was preferred in goal to Kepa Arrizabalaga for Chelsea’s visit to the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
It was Caballero’s first Premier League appearance of the season, but the Argentine conceded two goals away at Leicester City, and will take the blame for the Foxes second goal.
Rudiger who scored twice against Leicester City has spoken about the two goalkeepers but refused to pick a favourite out of the two.
“For me I have with both goalkeepers a good relationship,” said Rudiger.
“This is the decision of the coach and we respect that. I have to give Willy as much confidence as I give to Kepa always and I think he did a great job.”
Explaining why he dropped Arrizabalaga for the game against Leicester City, Chelsea manager Lampard said: “It’s a decision that I make and I think with goalkeepers it’s a decision you don’t take lightly because of what it means.”
