According to Spanish media outlet AS, Frank Lampard’s decision to drop Kepa Arrizabalaga from the starting XI, with reports claiming he might not regain his place in the starting XI, has created a problem for Spain national team coach Luis Enrique.
With the Euro 2020 fast approaching, Enrique currently finds himself in limbo regarding Spain’s goalkeeping situation.
Kepa, David De Gea of Manchester United and Roma’s Pau Lopez, who is currently the third-choice keeper for Spain, have all struggled to reach their best form this season.
Willy Caballero started ahead of Arrizabalaga for Chelsea’s 2-2 draw against Leicester City on Saturday and various reports have claimed Lampard will continue using Caballero after getting frustrated with Arrizabalaga’s performances in goal for Chelsea.
Kepa has come under heavy criticism this season for his performances in goal for the Blues, with the Spaniard conceding 34 goals in just 24 Premier League games.
He also has the worst save percentage among Premier League goalkeepers to have played 10+ games this season.
