Chelsea could only manage a 2-2 draw at Bournemouth on Saturday with Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso scoring both goals for the Blues.

Despite being happy with Alonso’s contribution in the game, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard wasn’t happy Chelsea left-back scored twice while the attackers wasted chances.

“People talk about the defence but if you are 1-0 up and leave teams in the game than one set piece can change the game,” said Lampard.

“We should score more goals and then we don’t have that problem.

“We expected a fight and they gave us a difficult game but we should win the game, we had a lot of possession and chances.

“The character of the team was great, it wasn’t for the want of trying but we need more goals.

“Marcos Alonso has had a big week but I don’t want my left-back top of the scoring charts. I want our attackers scoring goals and they haven’t.

“We wanted to win, we should have won but it’s a difficult league. It’s that cut throat part of the season. If we keep having games like this and we are not clinical it’s tough.

“The way the season has panned out, we should be pleased that we are fourth but it means nothing at this stage.

“If we manage to get in the top four the achievement is huge but we are a long way from that yet.”

  1. Mr Lampard we know what frustrates you, it’s not Alonso being a left back scoring but it’s because you feel he doesn’t fit in your team. He is a great player and from your formation, he wasn’t playing the left back position.

  2. Mr lampard, if you had played it safe from the on set we cud have been very safe in the top four. Now panic is creeping in. Man utd is catching up

  3. Mr Lampard am not happy with your lineup you made two games gone why you put a such lineup which is unhelpful and Alonso is a great player but you were benching him all the time which is not fair at all

Now I think stupidity is gradually creeping into Chelsea games on the part of Technical handlers otherwise we wouldn’t be having that lousy explanation from Lampard not being happy that a so called defender is scoring. Elsewhere, they rather encourage every player to score so what’s he talking about. He has lost it

I think Lampard is right, Chelsea is struggling due to midfielders who don’t score, they only enjoy passing the ball around the opponents box!

Mr lampard we are not happy with your team selection, you can’t play James and aziplicuata at the same time yet pulisic, cheeks, willian are there on the bench. style up man or else you just want to ruin our club. we tired of being ashamed on our own home ground

  7. You are’nt happy of alonso because you don’t want him in our club. Why use aspi’ for left back and yet alonso is there, kenedy on loan but why lampard?
We still need alonso and get us onana for keeper and Hakim ziyech please!!!

  8. We love you our legend but at least get for us a good goal keeper. Alonso is such a great man. We wish u good luck manager.

  9. Advice your all your players to score even the goalkeeper and stop fuming because you don’t have befitting strikers. Mind you, if you lose the top 4 place, you might not get the desired players you intend to buy after the season. They won’t come to a club that has failed to be in champions league fixtures. You might even sink deeper next season
