Chelsea and Leicester City played out a 1-1 draw before the winter break as the Blues couldn’t cut short the point gap to five points.
Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has vowed to cling on to third spot as he wants to push higher with Leicester City.
“There are still 39 points to play for, which is a lot,” Rodgers told reporters.
“We don’t want to change. We can’t be thinking about being in the top four. We just need to concentrate on the next game. We want to be the best we can be.
“We finished ninth in the previous two seasons. We find ourselves in the top four and deservedly so.
“Can we sustain that?
“You have to find your own way [to challenge the big teams] because you know you don’t have the resources.
“We all have a clear way of working and our own identity. You have to have honest players, who have spirit.”
