Chelsea were totally outclassed by Bayern Munich as the German giants beat Chelsea 3-0 at the Bridge ahead of the second leg next month at the Allianz Arena.
See the ratings of the Chelsea players below
Caballero: Did well in the first-half but Chelsea defence collapsed in the second half to let Bayern score three. 5/10
Azpilicueta: His slip exposed the Chelsea defence as Gnabry put Bayern in front. Was beaten at the back yet again for the second goal. Poor night defensively. 3/10
Christensen: Was having a good game in defence until he made a rash dash and was well beaten in the buildup to Bayern’s second goal. 4/10
Rudiger: Didn’t combine well with his centre-backs in the second half as the Chelsea defence were all over the place. 3/10
Jorginho: Couldn’t dictate the middle for Chelsea as Bayern’s midfield clearly dominated Chelsea. Would miss the second leg due to suspension after receiving a yellow card for dissent. 4/10
Kovacic: Definitely Chelsea’s best player as he was superb on the ball and drove through the middle with the ball. Unfortunately, his teammates weren’t on the same wavelength. 6/10
Reece James: Terrible game in the right wing-back position as Alphonso Davies always got the better of him. Couldn’t handle the pace of the young full-back and was lacking in confidence. 3/10
Alonso: His area was barely penetrated and he had a good game. Unfortunate to have received a red card in the second half for an elbow on Lewandowski. 5/10
Mount: Worked hard and got in good positions but lacked quality in the final third. 5/10
Barkley: Struggled to make any impact on the game. 3/10
Giroud: Tried his best in the first half with his holdup play, but lost his impact in the second half. His teammates couldn’t combine well with him this time. 5/10
Subs
Willian: Added spark to the team after coming on for Barkley. 5/10
Tammy Abraham: Came on for Giroud and added more pressing to our front line but nothing more. 5/10
Pedro: Looked lively after replacing Azpilicueta. 5/10
