It was a game of two halves at the King Power Stadium as Chelsea were the better side in the first-half, while Leicester City dominated the second period.

See how the players’ performances are rated:

Caballero: A mixed first Premier League start of the season as he made a good save in the first-half and would be blamed for Leicester City’s second goal. 5/10

Reece James: Good game in the first-half as he kept bombarding forward and putting in some great crosses. Was more subdued in the second-half as he couldn’t get forward anymore and his defensive performance was lacking. 5/10

Rudiger: Best player on the pitch. Good defensive work and rescued Chelsea with two goals from a setpiece. 9/10

Christensen: Looked pretty solid at the back and is forming a good partnership with Rudiger. The defence still leaked two goals nevertheless. 6/10

Azpilicueta: Looked limited going forward especially in the second-half and didn’t seem too comfortable with his left foot. 6/10

Jorginho: Had a very good first-half but as he dictated the tempo of the game but was overran in midfield in the second-half. 6/10

Kante: Back to his usual workaholic best, as he kept breaking play and disturbing Leicester City’s flow. 7/10

Mount: Two quality deliveries led to Chelsea’s goals and he was also decent on the ball. 7/10

Pedro: Didn’t do much to justify his start. Decent first-half performance as he worked hard for the team, but faded out in the second period. Still looks rusty. 5/10

Hudson-Odoi: Made some good runs in the first half but was quite poor in the second half as Ben Chilwell got a grip of him. 5/10

Tammy Abraham: Just recovered from injury and probably shouldn’t have started the game. Was off the pace, missed some good chances and slipped too often. 4/10

Subs

Willian: Came on for Pedro but couldn’t affect the game. 5/10

Kovacic: Took a while to blend in after replacing Jorginho. Grew into the game. 6/10

Barkley: Came on in the 82nd minute for Abraham. Didn’t do much. 4/10

  1. Lampard, coaches pleas give Lamprey a chance to start a head of Hudso,Hudson is not so good, let Marcus Alonso to start on the left Cessar Azpli.on the right, kovacic midfield, kante, joginho,Mason mount,to man midfield, then Willian to be given the responsibility of finishing the work these remaining few games and will be safe. From Kenya

  2. Its really embarrassing seeing Tammy go down or miss an open chance that anybody can convert into goals, nobody Luke’s Working had to bringthe ball into the box only to be shoot out of turget or on goalkeeper to save, not once not twice but in every game am so sorry to mention but this the trueth

  3. Chelsea is bigger than Lampard. There no justification playing Hudson Odio, Mason Mount ahead of Willians and Kovacic. He just doesn’t have it. And Chelsea need a striker
