The Blues lost 3-0 to Bayern Munich at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night with several Chelsea players failing to perform on the night.
Here are Chelsea’s worst three players against Bayern Munich, according to The Sun.
Cesar Azpilicueta was named as one of Chelsea’s worst three players against Bayern Munich.
On Azpilicueta’s performance, The Sun wrote: “A game too far in Europe for one of Chelsea’s old guard. Lack of pace brutally exposed for the first two goals and was eventually put out of his misery by Lampard.
“A superb servant for the Blues, but it looks like he won’t have many more nights to perform on a stage as big as this.”
Marcos Alonso was also named as one of Chelsea’s worst three players against Bayern Munich.
On Alonso’s performance, The Sun wrote: “Poor night for the full-back ended with an early bath after he was given his marching orders for serious foul play after appearing to elbow Lewandowski.
“Was caught out of position several times in the first half with Bayern appearing to be targeting him and although he twice came close up the other end, this is a game he’ll want to forget in a hurry.”
Ross Barkley was also named as one of Chelsea’s worst three players.
On Barkley, The Sun wrote: “Once again flattered to deceive on the big stage for Chelsea and almost gifted Bayern a goal in the first half with a sloppy pass on the edge of his own area.
“Struggled to make any impact and it came as no surprise to see him hooked on the hour mark.”
