Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has revealed that the players don’t know much about the manager’s starting team until just before the game.
According to Mount, the Blues boss is usually tight-lipped about his team selection and wants the players to work hard just before the game.
Mount who started in the 2-2 draw against Leicester City said: “As players we never know what’s happening, so we never know the starting line-up until just before the game.
“We work in training and I feel like everyone is ready to play. I don’t really know what’s happened with that.”
Lampard made a surprise decision to drop Kepa Arrizabalaga for Willy Caballero for Chelsea’s game against the Foxes. The world’s most expensive goalkeeper has been having a torrid season so far.
Explaining why he dropped Arrizabalaga for the game against Leicester City, Lampard said: “It’s a decision that I make and I think with goalkeepers it’s a decision you don’t take lightly because of what it means.”
“They are very close and they work hard together each day but it’s one that I felt to make for this game,” Lampard added.
“I trust in Willy he trains brilliantly, he’s a great professional. I trust them both but it’s the decision for today.”
