Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham wasn’t at his best as Chelsea drew 2-2 at Leicester City on Saturday and he has now explained why.
The 22 year old striker has revealed he played through the pain barrier at the King Power Stadium after an ankle injury suffered against Arsenal last month.
He said: “My ankle is still painful but sometimes as players you have to play through pain. The medicine started to wear off in the second half but I will take this break to recover.
“I am definitely in favour of the break. I can’t wait. It is needed really after a long hard first few months of the season.”
The Blues are now on a winter break and our next game is against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on February 17th.
