Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori has struggled for starts under Frank Lampard of late and this has not gone down well with Chelsea fans.

Tomori seems to be fourth choice defender at the moment and has not played in the league since Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Arsenal at the end of December.

Lampard has opted for Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger as his centre-back pairing in recent weeks and even when Christensen was substituted against Manchester United, Lampard opted for Kurt Zouma instead of Tomori from the bench.

According to Football London, Tomori has struggled for game time in recent weeks because Lampard is looking for stability in his defence, rather than keep changing his centre-back pairing, and is willing give Christensen and Rudiger a chance to grow.

Despite his lack of chances in recent weeks, Tomori is reportedly still working hard in training to get another chance.
