Due to the coronavirus outbreak, another major football event billed for the summer has as well been postponed until next year, as CONMEBOL have confirmed the 2020 Copa America has been postponed until 2021.

The 47th edition of the tournament was billed to hold this summer on June 12, but it has been confirmed that organisers announced on Tuesday that the competition has been pushed back to June 11, 2021.

Chelsea’s Willian was expected to feature for Brazil in what could be his last Copa America as the Selecao head into the tournament as defending champions after ending their 12-year wait for a Copa America in 2019.

This comes same day that UEFA has also confirmed that this summer’s Euro tournament has been shifted until next year in order to allow leagues wrap up their season with fixture compression.
