Aston Villa boss Dean Smith’s job is currently under threat after a series of bad results, and the Villa boss might be sacked soon according to reports.
Villa have lost 10 of their last 15 league matches and are facing relegation, and the Villans have lost four consecutive league games and could return back to the Championship just after retaining top flight status just last season.
Villa have spent nearly £140million across two transfer windows since they won promotion last May, yet most of the new buys haven’t made much impact at the club. Villa have four tough games to come, with Chelsea, Wolves, Liverpool and Manchester United to come in their next four fixtures.
Chelsea legend John Terry joined Dean Smith as assistant manager in 2018 and helped Villa secure promotion to the Premier League.
Football Insider are now claiming that Villa are close to sacking Smith as their manager, with Terry set to be made temporary boss.
According to the report, the idea of giving Terry a promotion from assistant head coach to the top job has been discussed among club chiefs.
Can Terry turn around the fortunes of Aston Villa?
