Willian’s contract at Chelsea expires at the end of the current campaign and he is yet to reach an agreement with the club over a new deal.

Chelsea are only willing to offer Willian a two year deal while the Brazilian wants a three year deal.

Willian has been a long-term target for Barcelona and the Spanish club have been rumoured to be keen on signing the Brazilian as a free agent this summer.

Willian has reportedly told his agent to prioritise a deal with Barcelona over any other side amid interest from the Spanish club.

According to Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have now decided against snapping him up on a free transfer and have instead turned their attention to re-signing Neymar.

While Barcelona have dropped out of the race for Willian, another Spanish club have entered the race to sign the Brazilian as a free agent this summer.

Spanish club Atletico Madrid have expressed interest in signing Willian as a free agent this summer.

Willian recently admitted he could leave Chelsea.

“Chelsea offered me two years, and they are not going to change what they offered,” Willian told Esporte Interativo.

“I said I wanted three more years. The situation is difficult because of this, I really don’t know if it will be possible.

“My goal is to continue working and focus on this remainder of the season, so that Chelsea can continue winning the games for the remainder of the season.

“I have a clear head and focused for the rest of the season that we have left.”
