Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck has jokingly offered transfer advice to London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham after the Blues enjoyed a victorious evening at the London Football Awards.
Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham was the star of the award night as he scooped the Premier League and Young Player of the Year award, beating off competition from Arsenal and Tottenham players.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard and Chelsea Women’s boss Emma Hayes were also nominated for Manager of the Year, although they ultimately lost out to Brentford’s Thomas Frank.
Lampard was forced to call upon several youth academy graduates this season after FIFA handed Chelsea a ban on registering new players in the summer and Chelsea chairman Buck has advised Arsenal and Tottenham to adopt the same strategy.
“The nominees show a transfer ban is a very good thing,” Buck joked.
“In fact, I recommend it to all of the London clubs.”
