According to Daily Mirror, Chelsea are closely monitoring Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson as Frank Lampard looks to solve the ongoing goalkeeping issues.
Henderson has been widely praised for his performances while on loan at Sheffield United this season and with David De Gea standing on his way to becoming Manchester United’s first choice goalkeeper next season, Chelsea believe the 23 year old could be tempted to making the move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Lampard has dropped Kepa Arrizabalaga in favour of Willy Caballero this year for a number of games, despite Chelsea paying a record fee of £72million for him in 2018.
Kepa only returned to the starting XI against Liverpool in the FA Cup on Tuesday and despite Lampard maintaining he won’t make a decision on any player’s future until the end of the season, the Blues are looking out for a new goalkeeper.
Lampard is reportedly a huge fan of Henderson, who is valued at around £25 million by Manchester United. He will enter into the final two years of his Manchester United contract next season.
Henderson has registered nine clean sheets in the league this season.
