According to Daily Express, Chelsea could find themselves battling to keep hold of Ethan Ampadu if Ralf Rangnick takes over at AC Milan.
Despite limited appearances while on loan at RB Leipzig, Ampadu has impressed. The 19-year-old has made just seven appearances in total but played the entire 90 minutes as Leipzig beat Tottenham 1-0 in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.
Rangnick knows of Ampadu’s qualities from his time at RB Leipzig and he could look to swoop for Ampadu as he seeks to shore up Milan’s leaky rearguard.
Milan are focused on signing talented youngsters as they can’t afford big money signings and Ampadu fits the profile of the players AC Milan could target under Rangnick.
Ampadu is highly rated at Chelsea and it is expected the Blues will fight to keep him at the club.
