Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic has been named as the Premier League’s most underrated player.

This is according to Alex Harris of Daily Express.

“The Croatian midfielder has gone from zero to hero at Stamford Bridge after an impressive campaign,” Harris told Daily Express.

“While N’Golo Kante claims the adulation thanks to his reputation and Jorginho’s passing statistics earn him plenty of plaudits, Kovacic is the man who makes Chelsea’s midfield tick.

“He is confident with the ball at his feet, comfortable in transitions between defence and attack and is feisty in the tackle.

“While a return of two goals and three assists is hardly anything to shout about, it is the little details that make Kovacic so crucial for Chelsea.

“In a season that has finally seen Jordan Henderson win the praise he deserves, it is time Kovacic’s contributions for Chelsea were finally given the airing they deserve.”
